Last weekend I had the great pleasure of seeing The Mummies perform at Pickwick Gardens in lovely Burbank, California. The last time I saw them play was back in 1990 at The 6th Street Garbage Dump and it was with great anticipation that I looked forward to seeing their  mad monster party  and the ensuing mayhem once again! The Kings of Budget Rock were well received by hundreds of Ghouls and Guys waiting to see these masters of goof rock perform. Along with The Jinxes , OBS (Our Band Sucks) , Thee Cormans , and Satan's Cheerleaders , The Mummies did not disappoint! Show promoter  Real Boss Hoss made sure to book a venue big enough to hold in all the madness. Pickwick Gardens and its vacuous banquet halls made it feel like we were all at a prom! It was a great reunion of rock n' rollers from all spectrums of the scene. It's that time of year and I am consumed once again with my Hallmark honeycomb collection . Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and coupled with some new additions to my collection in the past few years, I am in pure paper heaven! This hobby of mine has grown out of my passion for modern vintage paper, graphics and ephemera which Hallmark's Plans-a-Party collection reflects. Not only do they mark special occasions, they are affordable and don't take up much room once folded into their envelopes. The ad above from 1961 encapsulates all that I love from that era and with a Halloween motif, this particular collection really floats my boat. In the past few years I have been able to procure half of the items seen in the ad and once I've collected them all, I will be throwing my little girl a vintage Halloween party!
