Dr. Frank from The Mr. T Experience I thought it would be a good time of year to check in with some of my favorite musicians out there and who better to start this rock n' roll checkup than with the multi-talented and all around great guy  Frank Portman (AKA Dr. Frank) from the seminal punk rock band  The Mr. T Experience ! Dr. Frank:  My band released King Dork Approximately the Album, featuring songs from the books, initially as a digital download with the paperback edition of the book. As of just last month we've released a vinyl and CD version as well. We've been doing some live shows as well. Frank Portman, a.k.a. Dr. Frank, is the singer/songwriter/frontman of the Bay Area punk rock band The Mr. T Experience and has written three novels, King Dork, Andromeda Klein, and King Dork Approximately. "I only mention it because I have this, a dream, really, that part of what it would mean is that the boyfriend is in this little club with the girlfriend where when one is hurt or troubled or being assailed by the cruelties of the world, the other decides not to be on the side of the world, but to join forces with the other member of the club against the world, even if it's frowned upon, even if it's a doomed scenario, even if the world's definitely gonna win.  Like you're allies.  The last remnant of your people.  A Sex Alliance Against Society.  But maybe I have it all wrong.  It does sound like a quaint, far-fetched idea, now that I've put it into words.  And also overly dramatic, if something can be o. and d. and q. at the same time...

How do you even begin to describe someone who has so profoundly effected the music scene in your area and then has gone on to take those talents and successfully transfer them into the form of a novel? Well, you can't and luckily for me I am a photographer who's sole purpose is to capture and present a visual documentation. As for this introduction, I can only humbly present to you the facts. The fact that Frank Portman, who is also referred to as Dr. Frank, helped start the seminal punk rock band The Mr. T Experience back in 1985, does not go unnoticed by those who are keenly aware of their influence on numerous subsequent bands.The fact that Dr. Frank is now a successful author is no surprise to the legion of fans who have enjoyed the lyrics he has crafted over the years. The fact that we cannot wait to hear another song about a girl...
