PATTERNS AND TONES

It was a pleasure to attend the 1st annual music and food festival at  The Gunton Arms  in the UK back in August. Our friend Rupert Orton , the creative force behind the festival and former lead guitarist for The Jim Jones Revue , hit just the right note in crafting an evening with an amazing lineup of rockin' punk rock blues, and tasty bites set in incredible environment. The setting was lush and the vibe was laid back. The large colorful circus tent, where the evenings musical entertainment was held, was in perfect contrast to the 1,000 acre deer park. The headlining band of the night was  Kitty, Daisy and Lewis a five piece "family band" who blew my mind in half! "Gunton Arms Portraits No. 1" While I was traveling in England this summer I attended the first annual  Gunton Festival of Food and Music  in Norfolk. Promoted by our friend Rupert Orton , the sold out festival was set up on a 1,000-acre deer park dating back to the 18th century. Situated in the center of the park,  the remaining hunting lodge was converted into  The Gunton Arms pub and hotel which opened its doors back 2011. The atmosphere of the festival was laid back and cheerful. The deer park with its English Oaks and fields were a perfect backdrop for a large circus tent set up for the musical entertainment. I had a delicious venison burger with pickled brambles on top. When in Rome.. The late summer sun lingered for hours at the horizon making me a very happy photographer! Rupert Orton is the creative force behind Punk Rock Blues - a promoting and tour booking agency based in London working with mainly US roots artists.  Artists represented by Punk Rock Blues includes The Handsome Family , Dale Watson , Barrence Whitfield & The Savages , Tav Falco & The Panther Burns , Slim Cessna's Auto Club , Daddy Long Legs , Left Lane Cruiser , Guadalupe Plata , James Leg within a roster of more than 30 acts.  Rupert also programmes live music for festivals including Red Rooster Festival in the UK and undertakes music curation & production for special one - off creative events.  Rupert is also a musician and was a founder member of The Jim Jones Revue and achieved world wide success as their guitarist and manager until the band finished in 2014.
